FAQ About Acupuncture

Does it hurt?

No, the needle feels like a pinch, and for the most part the needling is very superficial. Any deep needling tends to feel like a dull ache

What’s in/on the needles?

Nothing! Acupuncture Needles are sterile, made of solid steel, unlike the hollow hypodermic needles used for injections

How does Acupuncture work?

We use tiny needles to stimulate specific areas of the body called acu-points. By combining these acu-points, we increase the circulation of oxygenated blood to promote internal harmony, healing, and alleviate pain.

How long are the appointments?

  • Initial visits can run up to 90 mins. This include an initial evaluation, a multi-step acupuncture treatment, and adjunct modalities as needed

  • Follow up visits are 60 mins. this includes a quick evaluation, a multi-step acupuncture treatment, and adjunct modalities as needed

How many visits will I need?

It depends on the condition we're working on. All patients mention a sense of relaxation and wellbeing after an acupuncture session.

That being said, most patients can experience improvement on specific conditions after their first visit, while some conditions may need a couple of visits. Acupuncture works best when added to your weekly wellness routine What are your hours?
